Job Title: Equipment Engineer - Battery Manufacturing Job Summary: The Equipment Engineer for Battery Manufacturing is responsible for managing Vendor’s design, pre-assembling, installation advice, and commissioning advice of equipment used in battery cell production. This role involves ensuring the efficiency, reliability, and safety of manufacturing processes, as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize production and integrate new technologies to support successful startup and operations of the plant. The equipment engineer may also perform the same services for BESS (battery energy storage system) equipment. Key Responsibilities: Design and Development: 1.Be familiar with the Battery Manufacturing equipment in the Battery Industry including their technologies, performance, datasheets and efficiency. 2.Collaborate with other design and engineering teams to integrate battery technologies into manufacturing processes. 3.Oversee Vendor pre-assembly of manufacturing equipment to ensure all components are correctly assembled and fully functional. 4.Oversee Vendor tests and inspections to verify the functionality and quality of pre-assembled equipment. 5.Coordinate with Suppliers and Vendors to ensure timely delivery of components. Installation and Commissioning: 1.Support the installation of manufacturing equipment at production facilities. 2.Support commissioning of new equipment, ensuring it meets all operational and safety standards. 3.Coordinate Vendor furnished Training documentation to train staff on the operation and maintenance of new equipment. Process Optimization: 1.Analyze production processes to identify areas for improvement. 2.Implement process optimization techniques to increase efficiency and reduce costs. 3.Monitor and analyze production data to ensure quality and consistency. 4.Assess and identify opportunities for automation with Vendor supplied equipment. Safety and Compliance: 1.Ensure all equipment and processes comply with industry safety standards and nominated regulations. 2.Conduct safety audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards. 3.Develop and implement safety protocols and training programs for production staff. 4.Being familiar with Hazard Identification practices and participation in HAZOP workshops Documentation and Reporting: 1.Maintain detailed records of equipment design, maintenance, and performance. 2.Prepare technical reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders. 3.Present findings and recommendations to management and engineering teams. Qualifications: 1.Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field. 2.Proven experience in manufacturing equipment design, pre-assembling, installation, and commissioning, preferably in the battery industry. 3.Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment. 4.Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering tools. 5.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. 6.Strong communication and teamwork abilities. 7.Knowledge of industry safety standards and regulations. Preferred Skills: 1.Experience with automation and robotics in manufacturing. 2.Familiarity with battery technologies and electrochemistry. 3.Project management experience and certification. |
